An innocent trip to the art gallery turns far more sinister.
An allegory for the harmfulness media can possess for young children and adolescents, and a warning to be critical of the information given to us. The Shoes didn't start out with this meaning, but it shows how easy it is to succumb to media influence through a fictional horror setting.
Based on the philosophical idea mimesis, the understanding that art is a direct product, or imitation, of life, and the artists experiences.
