Maladaptive Daydreaming - is a proposed diagnosis of a disordered form of dissociative absorption associated with excessive fantasy that is not recognized by any major medical or psychological criteria. It can result in distress, can replace human interaction and may interfere with normal functioning such as social life or work.

Warning: this book's focus is drawn to a character who hints themes of depression and self-harm. The idea of the story is to present the experience of learning to understand and comfort someone through these struggles. You don't know. But you want too. Determination fills you with a desire to seek more about this boy. There's just something about him that makes you want to know more. He meets your eye. Is a name really too much to ask? He refuses to give you one. If you keep investigating, you'll get hurt. You'll be killed. You'll regret it. It's not a warning. It's simply the truth. (This book is a representation of my experiences with dating someone with depression in high school. I wrote it while we were dating, subconsciously writing him into the character Infinity. I will say that I intend to rewrite this at some point to send a better message, as I feel some of the actions in this book are unhealthy reactions to depression, that I have a much better perspective of now) [I'm also working on a VN based on this story.... I Fell in Love with a Bad Boy
CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. You Were Always a Daydreamer Draft Version
When you're forced to mask Reality with Fantasy. The lifted layers finally unveil the tombstone of self. The biggest cities into the tiniest pebbles The massive ideas and thoughts formed into merely something to fear. A protagonist who already forgot his name Remembers He is a Daydreamer. Which is the only way to cope with life after multiple tragedies. And the fraud on fake friends faces. Only to daydream. As losing touch takes a toll on that rotting indulgence slowly. This get's quite horrific as it goes on. It's not to enjoy but to reflect on and experience. I decided to publish the draft version, because I don't think I can fully finish YWAADD final edition any time soon. I am in the worst mental and emotional state ever. It's quite a struggle and I suffer heavily. So yeah, the polished draft kind of holds up aswell too. The final one is way longer and eventful. So, um yeah I don't expect this to get attention at all, it's kind of really mid in some parts. But enjoy, or don't I guess. Yes this was inspired by Everywhere At The End Of Time. "Elizabeth was a simple woman with a very simple life: arguing parents and two siblings. She loved to stay cuddled up in her warm sheets in her cold room, reading books and listening to music. Her life had been pretty boring when she really thought about it, but... school was about to start again, her senior year. Elizabeth was really tired of school; she was ready to leave that place and never turn back. All she did was wake up, go to school, and deal with the fake people there and their shenanigans. Nothing interested her until one night she was walking, trying to clear her head, and accidentally bumped into a hard wall-or so she thought. She looked up to see light brown pools staring into her skull. They stared at each other in tense silence. The guy she bumped into was the first to break it. "Watch where the fuck you're going," he said. She suddenly felt nervous after she heard his deep, gravelly voice. Elizabeth stammered out a quiet "sorry," her head down, embarrassed by her zoning out. It had become a problem after her 16th birthday, when her best friend Sade moved to the other side of the world. She had no one to talk to, so she just got stuck in her mind most of the time. Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. Lost at the Start
Luna knows when she wakes up something isn't right. Despite not remembering anything from her last day alive, she knows she's supposed to be dead; That she is dead. So why am I still here? Watching the reactions of those she left behind, she gets some answers, but she still doesn't know why she isn't Resting In Peace. She's know there has to be a reason, and she desperately wants to find out what, so she can get to Being Dead like she's supposed to. Even if it takes a while. Even if she still can't move on when she does. Oh, and she has to figure out how this whole "being dead" thing works by herself. Great. And the longer she stays dead, full of questions she can't answer, Luna's already shattered and tiny world starts to close in on her. He speaks as if he knows everything, he trips over his own tongue like the intelligent person he is. The lingering taste of vodka and whiskey taint his sinful chapped lips. When he walks he stumbles, he smells like nicotine and he's cold. Ice resides in his veins and heart but not even the hell like flames of hatred and anger burning within his mind can freeze over. She's sweet like honeysuckle. She's warm and physically beautiful with her long brown hair and different colored gaze. When she smiles, the entire world stops to look and stare at her. Yet underlying her forced smile and physical perfection, dwells the monster that is her mental illness that she cannot control. Being beautiful doesn't hide it either, only mass doses of prescription pills do. In which an 18-year-old who believes he hasn't much to live for leaves his small sleepy town in hopes of finding his mother who abandoned him years ago.
