~Toujours~

"Tu es mon toujours," Sirius Black constantly repeats this to me. 

I always say something along the lines of, "You're so frustrating. I don't understand you in English. No need to go all French-y on me." However, that is a blatant lie. I've known French since I was a child. My own mother is from France. But for a reason, unknown to me, I bite my tongue and keep my ability to speak French a secret from him. 

I know that he calls me his "always" because he thinks I cannot understand. I know that when I ask him what he said, he covers his tracks up by using a string of insults. I know that I don't hate him, even though I would never say this out loud. I know that I may even like him, but just a little. 

I think that is what I like about it, though. A never ending game of hating -or pretending to- because neither of us fancy loosing, and both of us fancy knowing that we have someone who won't ever leave us. 

So I guess in a way, I am his "toujours". 
I guess in a way, he is my "toujours" too.

And, I think I am more than okay with that.
