The purpose of this poetry book is one of defiance. Not to others, or anything in particular. It is against the war we wage internally, against ourselves every day. There is no bigger challenge in life than facing your thoughts, your true emotions, your feelings when you lie alone at night by yourself, cornered. We tend to postpone them, shelf them, as we grow accustomed to our daily activities, never giving ourselves a chance to evaluate ourselves. Who are we? what do we lack? what do we need? In this book, I took it upon myself to air out all of my grievances, my intimate thoughts, my happiness, my disappointments, my sadness all out in the open, for all to see. I wanted to face it all. Greetings dear readers! This is my first ever poems book. And um I wrote these all based on my personal experiences. As you may journey through chapters of this book based on my life and events throughout. A little sprinkle of the chapters are fictional but nearly all are non-fiction straight from reality. Hopefully you will love this journey with me. Few of these poems are dedicated to my friends or based on their experiences/point of view. Most poems may contain heartbreak or sad feelings but still the majority of the poems are about love, happiness and positivity. I am so glad that I am in a better place now, looking back on my life just a while ago I was not the person I am today. "I'm in love with you," he said. His voice was rough. Low. And in Marathi-for the first time. He never spoke in his mother tongue before. But now... he did. For me. And in that moment, I didn't know whether to smile... or shatter. Was I supposed to feel happy? Because all I felt was numb. I couldn't believe this was real. Not him. Not this moment. It felt like a cruel, twisted fantasy. No. No, this can't be happening. It's my birthday. Maybe I drank too much. Maybe I'm hallucinating. Or maybe... he's playing with me. Again. "You're not lying... right?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper. My heart pounded like a warning siren. This felt like a game. A trap. His expression didn't change- but something in his eyes shifted. Dark. Unreadable. Dangerous. Why now? Why me? Tears stung the corners of my eyes, and I hated that he saw them. Because the truth is- I don't know how to react to a man who once broke me... now telling me he loves me. Not when his love feels like poison- sweet on the surface, deadly underneath. And yet, a part of me wanted to believe him. Wanted to fall. Even if I knew I'd be falling onto broken glass. Because that's what his love is. Beautiful. Addictive. Painful. And now it's mine.
