Before We Lit It Up

UPDATE: this book is getting published! While I'd love to keep the first draft fully on here, it's very different than the soon-to-be-published version (don't get me started on how problematic the first draft was). And by different, I mean different title, different synopsis and a lot of scenes have been either redacted or added. They say opposites attract. But that wasn't the case for Layla and Jaxon.

BEFORE

Both bear the deep scars of despair, and for that, they were unknowingly drawn to each other.

After surviving a freak accident, Layla struggles to keep up with life and high school and move past the grief. Even though the cut ties, sleepless nights, and repeated blame almost makes it impossible. Until she meets Jaxon, someone who might just make life worth living again. But how can they find happiness with each other when they are both broken beyond repair?

AFTER

She will never see him again.

After seizing a chance to escape from her past, Layla knows she's not going to make the same mistake she did three years ago. She's determined to move on from what happened, stay hidden from those in her past, and find happiness again. But like all things, that's easier said than done.
And when the last person she expects collides into her life, it becomes near impossible.
