A genderqueer hillbilly and a haunted woman must break a generational curse that has entwined their lives in the abandoned coal-stripped mountains of the Pennsylvania Wilds.

***

Desperate to flee a dark past, Finley drives off a cliff and prays to the ancient hemlocks below to catch her fall.

But in the abandoned hollows of the Pennsylvania Wilds, everything comes at a price.

Tasked by an undead Not-Deer, Finley must find the three talismans that mark the mountain's boundaries in order to break a century old curse, one that has not only haunted the women in her family for generations, but has also bound the supernatural beings to the mountain, including the dead.

Fortunately, the handsome genderqueer hillbilly up the road, River Hawthorne, is just as eager [maybe too eager] to break the curse. Together, they navigate the woods where hungry trees walk and other demonic haunts roam, growing closer every moment.

But breaking the curse also comes at a price and Finley must decide what freedom is worth when her past comes crawling back through the woods to haunt her.

Ten years after the battle at Single Oak, the four groups of Oregon are still reeling from its after effects. Territory lines were drawn and stories have been told, those who were heroes once are legends now. In order to avoid new conflicts, solstice gatherings between the groups' leaders were organized-but will they be enough? *** Phoenix has grown up only ever knowing two things. One, her group and fathers are the saviors of Oregon. Two, The Reaper's are not to be trusted. So when a mysterious stranger rescues her after a hunting trip gone wrong turns out to be none other than her mortal enemy she begins to wonder, are they all as bad as they seem? The death of Stephan has begun to deteriorate The Reaper's from the inside out. Infighting over who should be their next leader has created countless seasons of lacking supplies and structure. A lack of prey follows a famine. Strong leadership is in order and although Gerald can provide it, debate and rumors are spread about his chosen companion-Aleu, Stephan's once respected apprentice, now glued to his side in a relationship they never wanted-with no say in the matter. The only person who The Reaper's can put their hope into is Hawk, their new general, a powerful man willing to do anything to keep his group thriving. Hawk is torn between keeping his group safe and his own ambition, Aleu is tortured with a constricting life they hate and Phoenix wonders if she can truly trust her new acquaintances. Now the three must make a decision. Will pushing aside the past and working together to make peace be worth turning their backs on their groups or is blood the only cure for the misdeeds of the past? _____________________ Story rating: 17+ Content warnings: Childhood trauma, subtext of grooming, strong language, violence and gore This can hypothetically be read as a stand alone but it's recommended to read the original series first.

There's something about Nightingale NJ that has people talking. What should be a beautiful city full of thriving multicultural businesses and festivals, plant-life and waterfalls, and vibrant nightclubs is instead a land of horror. While every continent has threats to public safety and haunting mysteries, it says a lot when Nightingale is high on the Top 10 list of cities in America with the highest body count: mobsters with cult connections, mysterious deaths almost animalistic in their violence, and missing persons seemingly lacking a pattern. We welcome you to this perfect hotspot for off-the-wall tabloids and exploitative podcasts. You live here because you have to and not because you want to. *** What was the point in living if you couldn't fight for a better tomorrow? What results would be waiting for you if you allowed a situation to rot and be left for the scavengers to devour? Justice. Punishment. Peace. Violence. There were so many ways to go about reaching your goals. Which mattered the most depended on which was the most effective method. Dionne Williams was a reporter. Unbiased and honest. Reporters were meant to have their voices heard, to explain the naked truth to their audience. Because to create a better world, you need to have an informed world, and Dionne was one of those loud voices willing to break open the seedy underbelly concealed from the public eye starting with her current residence, Nightingale NJ. Fayth Esposito-Jhavari was a demon in human clothing. Well, more like a somewhat unwilling vessel for a creature of a demonic nature, but her way of earning money didn't make her the most morally sound person anyway. Can't exactly write contracted killer on a resume and expect enthusiastic handshakes and back pats. Any crumb of normalcy becomes obsolete when a stubborn aspiring reporter and a vengeful hitwoman cross paths. (Rough/First Draft) (Cover created in Canva)
