"Testy" Tommy Reller volunteered for the paratroopers for the very same reason that the 140 others who eventually made up Easy Company, of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, in the 101st Airborne Division, of the U.S. Army, did. For the thrill, the honour, and the $50 for enlisted men or $100 for officers monthly bonus paratroopers received.

This story is a combination of events from the HBO "Band of Brothers" mini series, the book under the eponymous title, and my own made up events.

The Soldier of Stars ~ Band of Brothers [1] A young woman who finds peace in the stars, and let's them guide her even through the darkness that might overcome her. __________ Hazel Parker of the WAC, Catherine McCown of SPARs and Elizabeth Elliot of the Cadet Nurses' Corps take part in Operation Virago which will send 250 women to the front lines to fight alongside men. The government, along with the War Department and direction from General Eisenhower decide this is a secret, covert operation that the public will be shielded from, to see how integrating women into war will work. Each of the 250 women come with their own ambitions of what they want from war and why they signed up in the first place to be apart of this program. They become split into each of the 5 branches with leverage from each of the branch commanders, and split into groups of 2, 3, or 4 women and are placed into their different respective branches. The enlisted men of each branch, well, they do not know exactly how to approach a woman who, at the moment, has more military training and experience by the time they get placed into their positions. Hazel Parker, Catherine McCown and Elizabeth Elliot are placed into the 101st Airborne, the first 3 women to be apart of the Airborne. A few other women head off to the 82nd. These 3 women become part of the 506th and are put under 2nd Battalion, in Easy Company. In the year 1942 the US army officials opened up ot the public about a new regiment within the army, the paratroopers, they were said to be the men who would be dropped behind enemy lines from a plane and only the bravest men would sign up to take part in this new effort to end the war. What the governemnt and army officials kept quiet was that selected women, mostly women who were classed as intelligent, had been selected to train in different ares to assist on the frontlines. No word would get out to public as they knew it would be widely looked down upon, the women would train in private before being shipped out to where they would fight. Judith Moore was one of the selected women, along with three other women who she found to befriend through their training together as they trained to become paratroopers. Judith hoped to make a huge impact on the lives of those who fought in the war, hoping to be somewhat a light in their dark.

Tommy had just recently moved homes. The one he left was one full of memories. Not good ones, but not necessarily bad ones, either. He didn't have much to live for at his old home, so he moved in hope of starting over and meeting new people. He had no more family, and his school friends had long moved on from him. In fact, the only number in his contacts was his mum's who was long passed away. Tommy was young (sixteen, to be exact) and he often forgot things. Usually just as simple as forgetting to do the laundry, or forgetting to reply to a notification on his phone that he received three seconds prior. Simple things that didn't matter. This time, though, he forgot to charge his phone before leaving his new, barely furnished apartment. He didn't think much of it. If it died, it died. No biggie, right? He figured he'd be alright for an hour or so without his phone. That is, until he got lost in the large, unfamiliar town that he definitely didn't even slightly know the layout of. He didn't know where he was or how to get back to his apartment, especially without a GPS. And then, when it definitely couldn't get worse, it began to rain. Tommy was soaked. He was cold, hungry. He cut into an alley and sat down against a brick wall, curled up on himself. He sat there for a while, and then heard footsteps. It was three men. The older one crouched down in front of him. "You look awful...Come with us, mate." But Tommy didn't want to. Genesis... ...well Genesis is a spy. She has always been a spy. In occupied France, 1944, the Nazis are so close to finding her. She's so close to being burned, but she manages. She manages to just keep their suspicions off of her. But she needn't for long, as the date of her extraction is drawing near. And as she waits, she wonders "who will I have to be next?" Smoking and alcohol feature fairly heavily - SMOKING is not good for your health, but if you do/are going to smoke, please do so responsibly and safely - ALCOHOL is fine as long as it is consumed responsibly, please don't binge drink as it will seriously damage your body. This story contains GRAPHIC VIOLENCE and MAJOR CHARACTER DEATH because, as you know, Band of Brothers is during WORLD WAR 2 and so there was an awful lot of that.
