Dad steered me straight towards his study room. Something was eerily peculiar in the way he was behaving today. Also, as I turned the corner to the top stairs I saw Marry looking worriedly towards us.
"Dad, What's up? Why are you acting weird?"
He stopped right in front of the room and turned towards me. He hushedly whispered "Honey I'm so sorry" I have never seen him more defeated.
Then he said, "I want you to meet someone" and with that he opened the door to the room. There, standing inside was a fate worse than death itself. My fate. My death.
