Peter, son of Petra, longs for his home in Droughtclan. Leaving his home when he turns 18, he realizes that it changed more than he realized. With the Admin's daughter about to become an apprentice, Peter has to work hard to earn his place in the clan, and the trust of his brother, Clawsky.

Everyone swoons over her, sympathising with her, caring for her, when all she wants is for cats not to do that, to listen. However, when StarClan tell her of this evil, she may get the chance to prove herself to everyone. Rockpaw feels like an outcast, everyday being hated on by his Clanmates for seeing things differently. So when the chance to prove them wrong comes up, he doesn't give it a second thought. But the evil still resides, and Rockpaw might know more about it then he's letting on, even to himself. Greyshard, as a former kittypet, has always thought of life in the Clans as challenging. For her, everything seems to go wrong. Every plan, every schedule, every patrol - ends up in a disaster, and its always because of her. His clan mates don't trust him, the deputy and some other warriors hate his guts, and many taunt and tease him for being a rogue in his past. Plus, there is lies and betrayal at every turn.
