The only thing different is we're sort of variations off the same power. Witches have control over inanimate objects. We can do different things with earth, fire, water, air, plastic, metal all that sort of stuff. Warlocks on the other hand control people. They can also control animals but only super dumb ones. Most animals will freak out whenever a warlock comes near them, sensing the danger. The last kind of magical human is a wizard but there are only three of those. Wizards can control just about everything. They're powerful to the five millionth power and are greatly respected. They set the laws for both warlocks and witches alike.
