It is said that vampires are first to be seen in India. As it is an Indian mythology that in ancient time vampires co-existed with human race. Almost all Indians knows the story of how 'Lord Rama' killed the dangerous and mighty 'Rakshasa Ravan'. The "rakshasa" race since then tend to disappear. Some believe and worship Lord Rama and some admire him for his bravery.
