As the cottony feeling dissolved from my head and my eyes began to focus, I snuggled into the blanket. I could see that the man was glancing down at me quickly, then turning his hard face back to the lake. I had no defense against his gaze and I was forced to sit in my unease.
"Is there someone I should call?" He asked me.
I just shook my head. I could tell he was contemplating what to say or do. He'd found himself in an odd situation.
"Okay," he replied after a long pause. "I will take you home."

Jamie is lost. She is bored, uninspired, and ignoring her laundry. That is, until an unexpected chain of events changes everything.

'What are you doing here?' he said angrily forcefully yanking my arm. 'I told you to stay hidden.' I pulled my arm free. 'I know but I wanted to help!' I told him with creased brows wondering why we were wasting time. 'By getting yourself killed? Is that your idea of helping?' his deep eyes shot daggers at me. 'I don't care! This is my fight too?' I argued shooting back the daggers. 'You don't...' he mumbled the rest of the statement running his hand through his hair in obvious frustration. His eyes narrowed into mere slits as his face grew dark and he seemed to loom darkly and threateningly over me. I shivered as I stepped back in both awe and fear. 'I will rip everyone's throat with my bare hands before I let anyone touch you.' he hissed his eyes a deep shade of grey that they were almost black. "To what do I owe this honor?" his voice is trembling with laughter. Jee-buss... he finds this funny... "I saw a butterfly and followed it in here?" I more like ask. He starts laughing. I can only stare. I am loving this. I love this sound. I love this clear view of his forest-green eyes without any glasses. He puts his head on my shoulder as he continues to laugh. "Oh dear, is that what it would take me to get you in my room?" he wipes his eye releasing my hands. I want to answer, 'No... All you need to do is smile and I'll follow you anywhere'. But I keep my mouth shut. He is looking down at me. "Seriously, why are you here? Tell me before I start assuming...." he raises his eyebrow suggestively. ........................................
