The worst thing to happen to me was a horse. A horse, you asked?

Yes, a one of a kind, a Belgian Draft talking mare named Elly. I was separated from my platoon after an unexpected firefight when she found me and befriended me against my will.

Who was this talking mare and why does she want anything to do with me, a lowly corporal in the U.S. First Infantry Division during America's invasion of Iran? She says she is a friend and needs my help but wouldn't take no for an answer.  Nor will she let me out of her sight, even for a moment.

Better to stick with her, I reasoned, than take my chances with the locals and roaming militia on the hunt for lone American soldiers like me in the besieged city of Ahvaz in Khuzestan province.

When I do finally get back to my platoon the first thing they'll ask is;

"Corporal James Smelly, Where the hell have you been? And what are you doing with that horse?"

They thought i was dead only because Casper took some of my blood and spread it through an abandoned cabin along with some hair and clothes. Six months after i was kidnapped Casper started to become nice he would treat me like a princess and tell me how beautiful i was. I began to fall in love with my kidnapper was it wrong of me to fall in love with him? Was it wrong to agree to marry him after everything he put me through? "What are you going to do Crystal?" I screamed at myself in the mirror.

What used to be a peaceful place to ride has now become a picture-perfect danger to horse and rider. A horrible accident sends Amber's reputation as a rider and her social life plummeting. Stress and pressure claws at Amber, and she feels overwhelmed, like a spout with too much water. Then, an opportunity: A quiet island off the coast of England. They quickly find a place to stay and a stable to ride at, but is this island as peaceful as it seems? Will Amber's troubles follow her everywhere she goes? Will she ever have the confidence to compete again?

The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.
