Magic was outlawed centuries ago in Aceria when Queen Avery took the throne. Historians will tell you that magic was evil, and anyone cursed with it had been grateful to have it removed, as the Queen had ordered. How it was removed, no one knows; but the Queen assures her people that her top priority is the safety of her kingdom.

However, when a list of people who still have magic is handed to the Queen, she orders they be captured and executed at once...without the kingdom knowing.

Gerard is one of the high ranking soldiers sent to find these hiding mages... and Aurora is the mage he is assigned to capture. But before he can take her back to the Queen, they stumble across a terrifying discovery- the Queen is not as heroic as she seems, and everything they once knew is called into question. Now, they must locate as many other mages as they can before the Queen does, and work together to defeat an evil force.

A magic-addicted spy trapped in the queen's service must track a princess-turned-assassin in order to earn her freedom, but things get complicated when she falls for the princess she's supposed to capture. ***** Weak. Cursed. That's how seventeen-year-old Kayden Branimir, the realm's deadliest assassin, views herself. Some believe she could save the world with her rare healing magic, but she gave up on her powers long ago after failing to save her best friend. Her life changes when she receives a letter from her supposedly dead twin brother, Alaric, begging to be rescued from rival territory Leodia. For the first time since her friend's accident, Kayden is determined to be the hero, but she must learn to embrace her magic--and herself--along the way. Strange. Unnatural. Those are the words whispered about eighteen-year-old Zara Tait, a Leodian spy addicted to soul-stealing magic. Forced into the queen's service, Zara wants to escape and return home, but she has nothing to offer the queen in exchange for her freedom. When Kayden arrives in Leodia, Zara sees the quiet girl with unique magic as the bargaining chip she needs. But the more she learns of Kayden, the more her feelings grow. Now, Zara must choose between her freedom and the dangerous assassin she hadn't meant to fall for. Starting a new school is hard; starting at a school for vampires when you're the daughter of an infamous vampire hunting family? That might just turn deadly. When seventeen-year-old Cleo Levant is sent to an all-vampire academy as part of a treaty between humans and vampires, she hopes that she can be the steward of a new era of peace. But in between classes, assassination attempts, and a dangerously handsome vampire prince, she begins to realize she might be more of a pawn than she'd thought. When she is secretly tasked by her father to find the vampire royal family's hidden heir within the academy's walls, Cleo will have to decide between family loyalty, and new friendships with the people who used to be her mortal enemies. And with a vampire-human war just waiting to break out, Cleo's decisions might just change the fate of both of her worlds forever.
