Every year, four people from the city of Dapmore are chosen as the contestants of the Cinderella Games, a tournament where they compete for a royal's heart. 

This year, Magdalena "Lena" Lee will be participating for the prize of wealth, beauty, and fame. Catching the eye of the handsome Prince Jayden, Lena soon realizes that the world of Cinderella is more dangerous than it seems. 

In a world where hope is dead, wicked is good, and danger lurks at everything corner - you should be wary of who you trust.

But when her clumsiness causes her to embarrass herself in front of Asher, the boy she has had a crush on forever after, (again) her best friends suggest looking for a new guy and she is all for it. That is until, Beaux, the boy who endlessly torments her suddenly takes an interest in her. Celeste is sure that he is just trying to start trouble, but when he starts to be nice to her and tries everything to get her attention, she starts to think differently about him, but she does not have time to sort out her feelings when Asher suddenly starts showing feelings for her as well. If two boys after her wasn't enough to deal with, her glasses begin to act like a mirror into people's lives (resulting in some unneeded incidents occurring). After some investigating Celeste thinks she knows the reason behind her magical glasses and, even though she is in disbelief about it, comes up with a daring plan with the help of her friends to stop it.
