Thunder rolled heavily across the sky, and Dreamer looked up from her writing to see that the lights inside Thunder were on, beckoning her to come inside. A few raindrops fell from the sky, and she quickly took her piece of paper out of the typewriter to preserve the ink. At that moment, a flash of white cracked across the sky, coming down, down, down. A bright bolt of lightning zigzagged down from the heavens, thin and white. With the pass of a single heartbeat, the single blink of an eye, all was quiet. A small stream of smoke rose slowly from Thunder's bed.
The valiant truck twitched and moaned, small arcs of electricity passing through his undercarriage to his roof. His headlights flashed on and off by themselves, over and over, until they stayed on. Thunder's engine sputtered to a steady hum. His headlights flickered, the small lights above his windshield visor illuminating themselves as well.
The whisper of a word on the howling wind could be heard, repeating over and over: Thunder, Thunder, Thunder...

When Evelyn Cruz, the youngest of the Cruz siblings, comes full circle back to an old family friend, she instantly is flooded with old memories. The Valor's have come back with business. That's all they truly cared for. The eldest son of the Valor's, Grayson, had made a promise to the Cruz siblings to never leave.
That promise was broken 5 years ago. Though, the one most affected was Evelyn. He had solely set the promise from her words. He promised to not leave and cause her to become the taker of the family business she never wanted.
Will she be able to forgive him? Or will they both have to live with a lost connection beyond repair?

I'm trying my best to not listen to his voice booming behind me. Following me. "Evelyn, please!" Grayson's footsteps are getting closer to my trail and I can't help but speed up.
But no matter how hard I tried to get away from him, he caught up to me. "Evelyn-" Grayson's arm wraps around my arm and I'm tugged back, flipping around to face him.
"What the fuck do you want Grayson?" My harsh voice echos in the empty, open hallway. "God, I dont know what you want me to do. I have tried everything to get you to forgive me." He takes a sharp breath when I pull a knife out of my pocket and hold it to his stomach.
"You really want to know why I haven't forgiven you?" He stares down at me blankly and gives a short nod. "Because you took the one thing I hoped you would care for." I press the knife ever so slightly more into his skin, causing only a small reaction from Grayson.
His jaw clenches before he speaks. "And that is?" I shake my head at how stupid he is. You would think the taker of the Valor family business would be smarter. But no.
I use my free arm to grab his tie and tug on it, leaning him down. He was so close to me. I could feel his warm breath against my lips. We were only inches away.
"My trust Grayson."
