When Langley Ford starts her freshman year at her dream university, she does it with the full knowledge that she's across the country from her older sister Vivian for the first time -- and at the same school as her sister's best friend Jude Waite, Langley's longtime crush.

She figures she'll keep doing what she had been -- saving herself the embarrassment by pretending her feelings for Jude don't exist at all. But it becomes more of a challenge when she finds herself friends with a wacky group of risk-takers and starts to wonder if their philosophy of living in the moment and going for things that scare you is the right one...

As her new lifestyle, and her feelings, begin to clash with the person everyone else expects Langley to be, she has to decide if living a life without compromise is worth risking the most important people in it.
