How are you supposed to move forward when you can't stop regretting your past? Everyone walked away from the Battle of The Sun & The Moon a different person than they were before. With no time to mourn the loss of Princess Yue the team sets their sights on the Earth Kingdom; Aang needing to master earthbending and the Earth King's support vital to win the war. There the Avatar struggles with the stubborn element while the Akira struggles with her own inner turmoil. Free to make her own choices for the first time ever, Aelita finds herself in a near-constant battle with her inner demons. The life she once knew is long gone and the girl she once was has slowly been dying ever since that fateful night in Spirit Oasis. *Old Work* "Well, my family have a lot of great benders. Aang, Tenzin, Katara, Kya even my dad was a great firebender with an earthbender mom... I can't understand why I'm not destined to bend. If I have to be honest, it's all I've ever wanted to do. I too wanna make my family proud." I said letting all of that go, and I felt relief in my body. I've never opened up like that, especially not with people my age. "Wow, you're actually capable of saying more than four words." He said and we both laughed. I could see where he was coming from. I was never the one to be good with words. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bore you with the story of my life." I said already regretting how I had rambled just a few moments ago. "No, I'm glad you're finally opening up. It's nice to know the real you." He said and stopped up. I automatically stopped up myself and looked up at him. Into his mysterious eyes, holding more than I could ever be able to explain ************************************************ In this story we follow Kya's daughter, Naomi the nonbender. Thirteen years ago, I was born by my mother Mao and my father Shota. We lived in the Earth Kingdom peacefully, along with my my older brother for years. Until the night guards came to our house, demanding my father come with them. I was only five at the time, hiding behind my mother as the Fire Nation guards tried to take my father. I remember everything that happened that night. First there was shouting, voices ringing angrily through the house. Then came the fighting. The guards attempting to take him by force; my father fighting back. Mother grabbed me and my brother, taking us outside to avoid the flames being thrown around our home. I strained against her, desperate to get to father, who's screams could be heard from inside. My mother forced me to stay put as she ran back to the house to help father. Neither of them came back. My brother and I hid in the forest next to our house as the guards came out of the burning house. He told me to stay hidden while he went to check things out and I didn't move until the house collapsed. My brother never returned. It was then, I was determined to get revenge, to take down the Fire Nation for taking my family away from me. My name is Mari and I will see to it that the Fire Nation burns.
