18-year-old Embry Lincoln is just about to begin college at West Percclare University in Connecticut. Convinced by her childhood best friend and soon-to-be roommate Louise into downloading the university's anonymous dating app, Embry puts herself out there for the first time in a while - or ever.

Bad date after bad date, Embry feels like her dating life at WPU is hopeless. After an internal debate and several cups of coffee, Embry eventually decides to give the app one last shot before deleting it for good. With the littlest of hope, Embry stumbles across a boy's profile that almost seems too good to be true.

Unsure of his name nor appearance, this mystery boy's profile checks all of Embry's boxes. He share's similar taste in novels, music, and seems to hold a decent conversation. While mustering up the courage she can find, Embry ceases her last chance by asking this boy on a date. But once face to face, both Embry and her "mystery boy" realize it's not such a mystery after all.

Elliot "Eli" Dennings happens to be Embry's partner in their creative writing class. Having known each other before their blind date, the two eventually find themselves wanting to hang out more and more often. With his captivating dimples and curly brown hair, Embry's feelings grow unexpectedly stronger towards a relationship she didn't see coming.

But as the stars seem to be aligning for both Embry and Eli, Embry's ex-boyfriend Danny re-enters her picture. Between Embry and Danny's turmoil from their past, news Eli has yet to tell Embry, and an unexpected kiss, will Embry and Eli's relationship make it till' her sophomore year?
