A soulmate AU.

When you are born, the first thing your soulmate will say to you is written on your wrist. Luz Noceda is fourteen years old, and still has not found her soulmate. She has stared at the words on her wrist for years, wondering who they might belong to. They don't sound the friendliest. She's beginning to get worried that she'll never find her soulmate, and even if she does, that she won't like them.

Amity Blight doesn't believe in soulmates. She doesn't think any man could ever be good enough for her and has spent hours of her life trying to scrub away the words printed on her skin, trying to erase her destiny. But when she discovers that her soulmate is not a boy but a girl, she finds she is far more intrigued by this soulmate business than she initially thought.

As Luz and Amity grow closer, they uncover many other ways in which they share fates, and realise that they have a far deeper connection than either of them ever felt. But when the two are suddenly separated against their will, Amity must follow the lights back to her soulmate.
