We are prisoners and we have all committed some sort of crime. Whether big or small, we have been sent to death. Our country is getting too small for our population. Off the coast, there is a discreet, unexplored, dangerous island. That's where they are sending us.
The government are sending all convicted criminals to the island to see if it is liveable.
I know that's it's not.
My father once went on a mission to explore the island. He never returned.
So many more people try to explore the island, but none have come back alive. So they are sending us.
They are sending us to our death wish, but guess what...
We're not gonna let that happen.

I was slowly losing consciousness, but my mind never seemed happier now that I was dying. The white walls with big bright lights did not resemble heaven; in fact, it was quite the opposite. I thought I had died. When I came to, I found myself in this strange place, disoriented and confused. I looked around and found another five pairs of eyes looking at me with the same emotion swirling in their gaze. Now, 15 years later, I train with these girls. Our makers take care of us, feed us, and make sure we are clean, healthy, and fit. Some of us never had that; that's probably why it took so long for us to realize we were being used.
