"Hiro-Kun! Where are you?" A young girl called. Her eyelids were covering her eyes, covering just enough so she could still see. Her bright orange hair seemed to fit into the red and orange coloration of the forest. Her bare feet crushed the fallen red leafs. A large dark figure slowly made its way behind the 8 year old. It's head reached the branches of the tall trees, the girl barely made it to his shin. It grabbed the girl with it's long sharp claws, holding her in the palm of it's hand. The girl looked at it and laughed at the figure made of shadows. "Hiro-kun!"
She couldn't see it, but she knew the being was smiling. Muffled, deep noises came from it. Despite it not speaking normal words, she knew what it had said. "Yep! I'm alright! I was mostly worried about you!" It seemed to laugh at her words and replied, telling her she had no reason to worry about him. She giggled and yawned, stretching her arms. She moved to sit beside his claws, using them as a back to lean on. "I'm tired."
He gently and slowly moved his claws to wrap around her in a protective and comforting manner. He made its way to a large tree in the middle of a clearing, the place they called their home for the past 2 years. He sat on the ground, crossing his legs. He sat the small girl into a hole in the tree. It was large enough to fit two adults, and held her perfectly. A mat made of vines was what she used as a bed, and she smiled once she felt the familiar texture. She looked at her friend and smiled, "Night Night, Hiro-Kun. See you in the morning."
He nodded and sat in front of the entrance, making sure any passerby wouldn't see the entrance. He leaned his head against the tree, looking into the red and blue sky, showing it was dusk. "Yes. See you in the morning, Emi-chan"
