When Alanna awoke, she discovered she was no longer in the bed she fell asleep in. Nor was she in the body she fell asleep in. "Alanna?" A strange voice called out to her. Before she could grasp what was happening, the door of her childhood bedroom swung open. There stood the most handsome man she had ever seen in her life. He smiled, walked up to Alanna and kissed her on the cheek. "I hope you slept well, babe. You were drunk as shit last night." An immediate headache started to rise. Alanna groaned in response to this handsome stranger's words. "Ahh, I see the night was not kind to you. Here." He handed her a tall glass of what looked like orange juice. Alanna welcomed the drink, and when the liquid touched her lips, she immediately gagged. "UGH! What is THIS?!" Alanna yelled. Never had she tasted anything so bitter, yet so sweet. The stranger smiled, and said, "Hair of the dog, babe. You gotta compete today. It's Game Day." Alanna looked puzzled. The stranger's face went from sly to annoyed. "Don't tell me you FORGOT. How else are you going to prove your worth for our future?!" He demanded. Alanna said, "Look, I don't know what you're talking about. Last I remembered, I was 11 years old. Now I've woken up sometime in the future, and I don't know you, and I'm really scared. Everything is in the same place I left it last night, but it's all different." He looked at her, sighed with exasperation and said, "Well, you're not 11 anymore, you're 25. And today is Game Day. So, it's time to nut up or shut up. You have 2 hours to prepare."

Don't forget to clean up after yourself, and get good grades in school." The boy's mother ruffles his hair and kisses him on the cheek. "I love you buddy. I'll be back in a few years. I know that sounds like a long time but, I'll be back before you know it. I just have to make dad happy." The boy nods, refusing to cry. 'I have to protect Naomi.
