As I leaned into her, she just looked at me with hooded eyes. My face froze in front of her dull expression and I crashed my lips onto hers. She froze, and soon after she pushed me away.
¨I can't¨ she said as if she were worried something was going to happen. She looked down and began to play with her fingers, I knew she was avoiding my gaze.
I looked at her as her wavy hair fell over her forehead. ¨Why?¨ I said so softly trying to hide the pang of hurt that strung through my heart. She looked up at me with her doe eyes as a tear fell down her cheek.
¨I-¨ was the last thing she murmured before my mom came through the door holding a plate of cookies.
