Kim Seokjin knew he wanted to be a detective the moment he found his brother bleeding to death on their kitchen floor. He swore to himself that he would find and stop his brother's killer someday, devouring mystery novels and all the books he could get his hands on until he graduated and became a detective at the local police department. Kim Namjoon, who was what the world would call a prodigy, teetered on the edge, or rather, the thin line between genius and insanity. On the outside, he was pleasant, well-spoken, and an absolute wonder to everyone he met. Inside, however, he knew he was beginning to fall apart. Music was his medium, his mind was his downfall.
Or so he thought.
Seokjin arrived at the Kim household one day as they dialed the police and reported their son to be missing.
Namjoon loved- loves, he's still alive, remember that, Seokjin- the rain. And although Jin had never seen the boy after they were classmates in college, he knew.
As the rain poured outside for the third night in a row, Jin remained restless, unable to sleep because every drop reminded him that he was still out there.
Lost, and waiting to be found.
