When The Nights Get Long
I know using they/them as pronouns seems a little threatening, but there are a lot of people who use it as their pronouns, and this is for them. But the book is written in a clear way where you won't get confused. So please give it a read. Everyone does for your books. **** Blue. A fitting name for the gender neutral pianist of a punk rock band. A name that expresses the amount of guilt that weighs one down, as well as the depression sinking one's heart. But blue is a beautiful color, one of clear skies and shining water. Just like the person, the color Blue is a lot of things. Many years ago, Blue's parents died in a car crash, resulting in their older brother Luke to raise them with the help of his best friend, Andrew. Andrew had always been accepting of Blue, making sure they always felt safe in his presence. Of course, they always assumed he was merely playing nice due to the fact he was in love with Luke. When Blue's grades begin to falter, Andrew agrees to help tutor them, bringing them closer together. Through their friendship, he helps them learn how to deal with life as the nights get long and how to begin to ask for what they want without guilt, even if it means wanting to be with him. *This book is inspired by the anime Junjou Romantica, though it is far more appropriate than that anime, so you will notice some correlation. I'm aroace. I like romance novels. As you can imagine, there isn't much representation for that in such a genre, so I created my own. This is the story of Katie (our aroace queen) as she finds a person she actually wants to spend forever with. There aren't enough stories that show the love that can be given even when aromantic. However this is also the story of Jordan, and you will hear from both characters throughout the story. In the original document, the speaker is denoted by different colored text. Here, bold = Jordan, and not bold = Katie. I have 125 pages written so far, and I decided to share it because young me would have benefited from reading something like this. Some of the stuff we will tackle: depression from being in the Navy, discovering sexuality and the very real feelings that come with that, gender stuff, long-distance struggles, QPRs, the struggles of intimacy when asexual... etc. If there is a tag that you don't think belongs, it is because it hasn't come up in the story yet. 🏳️🌈 AROACE REPRESENTATION 🏳️🌈 TRANS PROTAGONISTS Thing is i like trouble, mess, the adrenaline of hitting the legs when things go wrong (even tho I'm not a good runner). I like to make things right by the wrong and that is pretty much everything you should need to know, but sometimes i bump into real problems, real pigs, even hyper-fast hedgehogs (I'm not gonna explain) And other times i cross with all of this at once and that's the story I'm gonna tell, one of the biggest messes i got into and i could not regret it less. I do not regret getting caught doing the paste-ups, or falling from my bike because of a flying rock, or having to eat wasabi chips. I do not regret any of the vandalism, throwing punches, mocking, being rude, being bossy or being me. In fact, being me and doing shit was one of the best things I've ever did for myself, for the city and for my family. So if you are interested in what I have to say, or if you already don't like me and want to see me getting waisted a couple of times, i think this story can be for you. And hopefully can teach you a couple of things.
