When the Empire sails to Tacree and lays waste to the shape-shifters, there are few survivors. Princess Rosabel will realise her destiny on her journey to save the remnants of her people.

*****

Princess Rosabel of the Tacree Kingdom has always known what her duty is; protect her people, marry the prince, and become the greatest shape-shifter to have ever lived since the Mother was created. With her father guiding her and her path set for her, deviation was never an option.

But when the crimson and black sails of the Sharlik Empire block out the setting sun on the Blood Ocean, Rosabel's commitment to her duty will be tested, as will her people's faith in her.

The young princess will go on a journey to save her people, a goal she may not be ready to undertake. But if her people have any hope of survival, Rosabel will have to realise her power and that she's bound by flame.

A book written for NaNoWriMo 2020, this will be very rough and raw as a first draft with minimal planning.

This story is a side novel beside the Flame in the Veins trilogy and is based before the trilogy. It's recommended to have read Flame in the Veins before reading this because of spoilers for that book, but this book is a standalone so it's not crucial.

My NaNoWriMo novel from November 1st 2016-June 8th 2017 ft. My 2019 self's astute critique. ~~ Miryanna Heolstor is a lady of Terinnia, the niece of the king himself. Ever since she was young she's wanted to follow her father's footsteps and become an ambassador to the land of Fasik. But a new threat is building that will put being an ambassador far from her mind. Her friend Andarin is involved in a secret organization called the Erglis that protects the kingdom from people and organizations who would do it harm. Miryanna wants in. Even if those people and organizations are Karayan Batal and the Vanags. A bloodthirsty group and a passionate and powerful man who's goal is to overtake the land of Terinnia and lay it bare to the hostile Empire of Amani's clutches. Miryanna never thought she'd be butting heads with her kingdom's greatest threat, but while Karayan does his utmost to upset the deffences of her and the Erglis, she does everything in her power to keep his hands off the things she loves, finding a formidable antagonist in the process. Can Miryanna find the strength within her to do all she can for her friends and the land of Terinnia? Or will she become another victim in a power play by an overambitious empire? ~~ Fantasy/adventure, a bit of cringe, a lot of not knowing what I'm doing. I've given my commentary and for once, I want to hear other people's take on this too, but for pete's sake, know what you're talking about before you hit "comment". It is completely unedited. All typos, punctuation mistakes, and questionable grammar is in place. Don't bother with it. That's not important to me, the story and story and world is.

❝ Let's rule a Kingdom, shall we? ❞ •○• When human slave turned Fae Handmaiden, Cara Arnel found herself in the Kingdom she had initially been fleeing to, alive, breathing and waking up with changes both physically prominent and mentally revealing, she could no longer ignore her ominous visions. •○• The guilt of Seraphima's last memory weighed heavily on Cara, devastating her just as much as Arion while Damien was itching to get a glimpse of his Soulbound and Lucien's walls of ice were chipping away. With her Alpha King pulling her in his orbit, came truths Cara finally uncovered. She soon realized that every person she'd met so far was crucial to the answers she'd sought. But the surprises in the power-play, the lies, the deceit, the politics, and various Royals soon failed to have their intended frazzling effect on enlightened Cara unlike those around her with each passing day. Unfortunately enough, the courtesy of the answer to who she was did not extend to the four alluringly dark pieces of her heart. It was four protective males that lusted for answers while their hearts tore apart in search of a feeling that was eating them alive. Meanwhile, threats of Killian kept rising as he steadily grew in his dormant powers and army. Cara could no longer stay still what with new alliances forming and old promises broken, both allies and foes warring. She knew there was no escaping the plans for the future laid out so brazenly. It was time to start preparing. But making choices is never easy. Thing was....this time around, Cara was much more prepared. Just not for the strikes her heart would have to take in the process. •○• BOOK 2 in the Mystic Bonds series. DO NOT READ before reading Book 1. WORD COUNT: roughly 12100 notes: 1. This is kinda an old draft. It will be lightly edited, but only a one-time readthrough. if you notice a mistake, please tell me. I will reply with 'fixed' to notify anyone who sees the comment at a later date that it is no longer there. 2. Originally a NanoWriMo project, I pretty much wrote the entire thing in one Sunday afternoon... so, yeah. horrible pacing. 3. I sucked at writing battles.... a few of those happen. 4. Adrian and Gale were originally different characters. If you see the name Gale anywhere, know that's because I was editing at times I shouldn't have been conscious, let alone editing.
