I stood outside on my parent's backyard patio looking across the yard at my best friend, Cadence parent's house. Since finding out about my best friend's accident I've been stuck inside my parent's house grieving his passing. I haven't left the house not once since hearing the news that was like a revolving never-ending nightmare to me. I haven't even made my way over to his parent's house to pay my respects to them. To be honest with you I don't think that I'm strong enough to see them without breaking down in front of them.

I knew without a shadow of a doubt that once I laid my eyes on the man who is a spitting replica of Cadence my whole world was going to come tumbling down all around me. I meet Cadence through my dad. His dad and my dad became friends during their freshman year at LSU. They would tell cadence and me every chance got that they felt like they were long-lost brothers that happened to find each other again in their adolescent years.

"good morning son," I hear dad greets from behind me.

"Good morning dad." I replied turning around to face him. I knew that my dad was taking Cadence's death just as hard as me or possibly harder. He always considered Cadence to be the second son that he and mom always wanted but could never have due to medical problems.
