Kyla Peterson is empty. She has no emotions or feelings. Her Mother's dead and her Father is abusive. She's invisible at school and likes it that way. She tries to avoid everybody who tries to wedge their way into her life, and, it works. They forget about her the next day or two. Some of the teachers don't even know that she exists.
Then one day, a new student, Brian Douglas, moves to Buffalo, New York and starts going to Kenmore West High School. He's different than the other boys that go there, and, he takes a liking to the, "Mysterious Kyla Peterson," as he calls her. Will Brian be able to save her from her void, or, will he push him out of her life, just as she did to the other people who tried to do the same thing?
