Catherine Chandler, a sophomore at Harrison High School, started out the third week of a new school year by getting into a car accident with her parents and her mom dies in the process . After she gets out of the hospital and goes back to school everyone acts weird around her because of the accident. That same day she got back there was a new kid named Vincent McCall, she had a few classes with him and was his biology partner for the year. Soon Catherine’s and Vincent’s relationship became more that just biology partners. Catherine and the detective who worked her case, detective Tate, became close friends while Catherine assisted her with some of her homicide cases. Soon after Catherine became friends with Det. Tate, Her best friend, Elizabeth Keller, wound up dead in the back of one the the school buses behind their school.
