living in a tourist town as a lonely existence at times. summers were filled with fleeting happiness and excitement and when fall came, the streets and beaches became quiet and desolate. there were ways to ease that loneliness, but there were guidelines. the 'locals' had one very important rule: never fall for the tourists. the tourists came and went, staying for a few days or maybe the summer months if they were lucky enough. most stayed for a week or two and then disappeared. tourists were meant to be hookups or friends only, and everyone knew someone who thought they could date a tourist for july and august and had their heart broken. it was such a simple rule, but all rules were meant to be broken. in which a best-selling author and rising actress meet in a east coast town.
