Madeline Furlow attends Lycon High School where Cameron McRae falls for the lead senior athlete but Madeline has eyes for McRae. Madeline is found surrounded in her own blood and thorned black and crimson roses from a rare condition known as Hanahaki, Cameron's one sided love brings awareness to  the small friend group and Madeline shortly starts coughing petunia petals up over time, it becomes apparent Madeline is now dying from the same condition as her beloved and the flowers eventually crawl there way up, killing her slowly. It's upto her to have them surgically removed or be found the same way her dear Cameron was. Madeline hides her condition until someone steps in...

At first, Newt thought it was nothing-a cold maybe-but now, as he watches Thomas clutch his chest in pain, he realizes the truth: Hanahaki disease. The flowers that bloom in Thomas' lungs are a cruel manifestation of unspoken love, and the more Thomas tries to hide it, the more they bloom, suffocating him slowly. Sonic started to cough up petals. Turns out he got a disease called Hanahaki disease, which means a specific flower starts to grow in the patient's chest, slowly suffocating them. This is caused by the patient dealing with unrequited love, it happens rarely and only with true love.. Will he be able to find a solution before the time runs out or will he suffocate to death.. :;PLEASE READ:; I think my book is the only one that actually thinks deeply into the hanahaki disease. It's not just about dying 'cause of love. It's a brutal torture day by day. It intervenes into the patient's life, messing up their routines and themselves both physically and mentally, which is why it will deal with the topic depression. I hope my book will give this bad feeling through and making it able to understand the topic's darkside and how brutal hanahaki can really be. Hanahaki Disease is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.
