Petalkit, Larchkit, and Patchkit should have died in the river. That's what the stars had planned. But fate had other ideas.
Swept downstream, the kits washed up on the shore, weak but alive. A rogue named Reed, a former RiverClan warrior cast out seasons ago, finds them and takes them in. But raising Clanborn kits outside of Clan life is dangerous-especially when their mother, Mapleshade, has vowed vengeance on those who wronged her.
As they grow, the kits begin to question their past. Are they meant to return to ThunderClan? Would RiverClan accept them, despite their mother's sins? Or do they forge their own path, away from the Clans that betrayed them?
But the Clans haven't forgotten them either. A war brews between ThunderClan and RiverClan, both sides desperate to claim them-whether out of guilt, duty, or fear. And when the truth about their origins is revealed, the siblings must make an impossible choice:
