AN EXTRACT:
I ran faster, driven by the skeletal, cadaverous bodies struggling after me. We reached Marks Street but didn’t stop. My feet slapped the ground beneath me as I put everything I had into my ever-reaching legs.
As I whipped my head back to track our followers, desperately trying to run faster my foot caught on a crack in the cobblestones. I stumbled towards the ground with the wind wailing in my ears. My shin landed on an iron pipe, bent and discarded in the lonely lane.
We had no choice but to turn and fight.
Tamara is taken under the wing of a local group of survivors. The world is in chaos, the earth drained of life. It's every man for himself. Lost and confused, a lonely weakling, Tamara would soon die in a harsh city full of hate. But at what cost will the gang pay for their humble kindness? And how will they survive just another day in an abandoned wasteland full of hungry predators clawing at their flesh?
