Life in a world filled with monsters can be golden, so long as you follow the path of Luna. She was said to etch civilizations into cesspools, but from what I've come to know of Eden, the Goddess's grace is not so giving.
Luna's gift to all her children is their one true love; their mate. If all one has to look forward to in life is a mate, then maybe living isn't all that much to look forward to.
