This story was made about a year or a few months ago as a D&D campaign so a few days or weeks ago I thought why not convert it to a book, so here we are, I changed nearly all species of the story but some have the same names as D&D races but different stories/bios and some have different names but are similar to some other creatures *cough cough*. I hope y'all like it and tell me if you enjoyed it!

Guardians of the Light (Book 1: Rebirth)
Many centuries ago, an unspoken darkness swept across the land taking all that was light and pure in the world with it. Creatures of this darkness roamed free to spread the darkness wherever they went consuming any trace of light remaining. In order to stop The Darkness from controlling the world, a group of priests took the remaining pieces of light and placed them within the body of two chosen children. They became known as the Children of the Light. Their sacrifice was not in vain, leaving behind spoken words for the next generation of children born with the pure light energy within them. There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school.
