Rosaline DeMuse, a 16-year-old always daydreaming high school student, wakes up one day in a land in great danger. For about a month now, a vicious virus that controls one's body and forces one to kill themselves has been spreading throughout the area. No cure has been found, and the virus is slowly but steadily spreading everyday. The leaders of the land have chosen her specifically to find a cure, and they will not take her back home until a cure has been found. Along with a few other chosen ones, Rosaline takes on a great adventure while still wondering: Why would they choose me?
