They were strolling down the mountains while talking to each other, mostly Wei Wuxian.

When suddenly Wei Wuxian eye catched something, a plain white flower.

He jagged to it leaving the girl Lan Xiaolian curious so she followed him, "So pretty" Wei Wuxian exclaimed and after he plucked it and turned to Lan Xiaolian.

"You know, this flower is kinda like you. So pretty yet lacks colors" After he spoke those words, the girl remained silent not knowing what to answer.

Suddenly Wei Wuxian moved his arms were he's holding the flower and putted it on top of her ears. He smiled to her brightly after that.

So, when Wei WuXian returns after ab absence of about a month, returning just in time to aid in the wipeout of the Wen Clan using some odd form of cultivation, Lan Zhan realizes something is wrong. The previously outgoing boy has turned inwards on himself. He no longer makes jokes, he smiles when anyone is looking, but the smile drops when nobody is paying attention. He laughs, but Lan Zhan knows they are faked. He flinches away from anyone, and Lan Zhan is sure that he could hear screaming at some point during the night. He is no longer creating mischief and breaking rules, and was often found alone, staring blankly into the distance. The only people who could touch him without him backing away was Wen Ning...and him. Lan Zhan realized this when he had grabbed Wei Wuxian to keep him from storming out of a room, and instead of fighting him off as he did with everyone else, he calmed. Unnerved by the drastic change in personality, and, though unwilling to admit it, worried for the slightly younger boy, Lan Zhan gets his father and brother to convince the Jiang clan to let them take Wei Wuxian back to the Cloud Recesses, under the pretence of having him attend more training, as an official Disciple in a few more months.
