Her voice meandered through his ears as she sang. It was like a prayer, like the choir of hundreds of angels singing to a god he only knew when he was with her. His head rested in her lap, her soothing hands tracing tiny rivulets in the white locks of his hair, lulling him to sleep. Cherry blossoms fell around them, recalling the first day he saw her back in school, and when she smiled at him, he could swear he was floating. *** She smiles at the memory, amber eyes flooding with the ghost of her printed evocation of a white haired man kissing her cheek. A photo. A picture. A fucking portrait she wishes it won't fade under the cruel weight of time. That's all he left her.

The Return of Gojo Satoru | Gojohime

"Have I ever told you the story of The Phoenix Girl?" My Grandfather asked. "No, you have not," I said. My Grandfather was like any other old man, but his mind was far from ordinary. All grandfathers are alike, each one tells you stories about wars or the good old days. But not my Grandfather. He was a storyteller, but his stories were always different. He would just come up with the stories, and they would be so enrapturing to me. It hooked me from the beginning until the moment I had to leave. But then one day, he told me a story that would change everything for me and my Father. This story called the Phoenix Girl. It's a story of a girl who goes through hardships and struggles in her everyday life. They punish her for things she has no control over, but then she faces it all. She is reborn from the ashes of the flames that had consumed her. She is stronger. But what if this isn't just some story that my grandpa came up with? What if something connected her to my family? What will happen now that the truth is out there? Why was this story so important? What will change? Who is this Phoenix Girl? Book 1 in the Solace universe HAPPY ENDING I SWEAR!! Idk why it won't say completed, but it is, I promise 🫡 ( 1 day + 11 hours are for the book, any time after that is bonus chapters!) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (𝒆𝒙𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒑𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓 7) I'm sprawled out on the grass with my head in her lap, facing away from her and looking at the swarm of children. Her fingers comb through my hair and occasionally, her nails will scratch against my scalp, making my eyes roll to the back of my head. Fuck that feels good. We haven't spoken in some time, and honestly that's not a bad thing. Sometimes words don't need to be exchanged. The fact that we can sit in silence and be comfortable with one another is louder than meaningless words ever will be. I love this. Just being near her, being in her bubble, enjoying her presence. Peace. "Solace?" "Salazar?" "...Do you think we can stay like this forever?" "Forever is a long time, Elias. You might get bored of me." I flip around instantly, head still in her lap, but now I'm able to look at her face. Her gorgeous face that now has a confused look and furrowed eyebrows. She's so fucking beautiful. I can't believe it. I don't understand it. I don't understand how one person can be so fucking... so... there's no words. I physically can't put into words how enchanting she is. She's a fucking goddess, a deity, an eternal beauty who doesn't understand the power she holds over me. "Alex, forever can never get boring. As long as I have you."
