Mario is invited over to Princess Toadstool's castle for cake, and he brings his brother and cousin with him. But what was supposed to be a nice and peaceful gathering, turns into the worst day ever when Peach, the heroes, and the Toads get sealed into the castle walls by Bowser.

Now, an old friend of Mario's must gather the stolen Power Stars, save them, and stop Bowser before it's too late!
