A road trip can change a life. How about two lives? Neither Hazel nor Joey expected a life-changing trip on their way to start school at the University of Austin, Texas.

For Hazel, she was planning on going to nursing school in Austin. For Joey, he was planning on taking a ride with his buddies to Austin on a full-ride basketball scholarship. Things changed once Joey's buddies bailed on him causing him to hitchhike with Hazel. 

Hazel had enough of Joey in high school. Will she learn to get along with him on a two-day journey? Can Joey show Hazel that he's a good hitchhiker? So many things can happen on a short journey.  Can the two of them work together to get to Austin by Thursday Evening in one piece? 

The destination is Austin, but how will they live through the journey?
