I remember meeting Prince Zuko very early in my life. He was different back then. For one, he had no scar on his face. But he was also still a sweet little boy. He was still that person somewhere on the inside, but the scar was a visual reminder of the changes he had undergone both physically and mentally. There was no doubt he was lost. But was I wasting my time by trying to help him find his way again? Maybe. But I didn't think so. ••• This story follows an original character Sora as she accompanies the Prince on his journey. Living the disgrace of her grandfather, Xia's parents send her to the Fire Nation Captial to try to win favor with the Fire Lord. Little Xia is meant as the most recent playmate for Princess Azula, a very dangerous job. However, Xia matched Azula in her Firebending abilities, and the two become friendly rivals. Xia became famous for her yellow fire, not nearly as dangerously hot as Azula's blue fire, but a warmth that fuels Xia's will. Though Xia was close friends with Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee, she volunteered to accompany Zuko and Iroh on their hunt to find the Avatar. Calm and patient Xia became Zuko's new sparring partner, and Iroh's favorite Pai Sho challenger. "How can you be drinking tea at a time like this?!" Zuko demanded. I looked at him as if surprised by his stupidity, "because I do not particularly like cold tea." A laugh followed my statement and we both turned to Iroh, "you see, Prince Zuko. Xia knows that there are times to march forward, but there are also times to take a step back." "What does that even mean?" Zuko asked furiously. "It means that I take time to think," I replied gently. "Now, why don't we go and continue your quest for the Avatar?" *I update by book. So the first thirteen chapters are book one. The Avatar and the Fire Prince
Nearly a century after the last appearance of Sozin's Comet, Fire Prince Zuko, freshly burned and banished by his father at the young age of thirteen, discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg. When Admiral Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver his prisoner back to Royal Caldera City, to Zuko's surprise, the young Avatar offers to help him and his uncle escape. They take refuge from the Fire Navy in the abandoned Air Temples, where Aang insists on searching for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, the indoctrinated Fire Prince at last begins to learn the truth about the Air Nomads and the War, while the Dragon of the West is forced to face the sins of his warmongering past. As the months go by, the two boys eventually form an unlikely friendship, and Zuko begins to experience confusing feelings that he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitorous accomplices.
