Emersyn Hale wasn't always afraid of the Hunger Games - that is, until the entirety of District Seven prepares for the Reaping of the 67th Games. However, what pushes her beyond her limits is when her half-brother Boris volunteers as District Seven's male tribute. A small, half-deaf boy of fourteen with striking blue eyes and the mind of a prodigy, Emersyn can guarantee that Boris will become the Capitol's next puppet, another pawn in their sick game of survival - and her overwhelming desire to keep him alive has intensified.
