I watch him as he walks away, staring until he's no where in sight. The wind hits me with a rough blow, drying my eyes before the tears can drop. I'm scared. I'm scared that I might've just gave him the power to hurt me. That I want him, that he makes me vulnerable and that even if I feel this way... he might not. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mare is a junior in high school still trying figuring herself out and what she wants from the world. With a terrible relationship with her mother and a history of temporaries, she's scared of herself and those around her but always manages to keep a sharp tongue. Being open and letting her friends in isn't easy but she wants to try. Mathew is the new guy from Colorado. A talented songwriter with a tendency of keeping a distance and a some what short temper. After reluctantly joining Mare's band of friends, he begins to become a daily part of her life and can't seem to get enough of her. Sometimes all Mare wants is to drown, but its Mathew who keeps her afloat.All Rights Reserved
