It's Christmas time in New York City and the Espresso Coffee House and Bakery needs two people to work the night shift to keep the cafe open until midnight. 

And so that's how Harry, a shy, introverted bookworm, ends up spending his evenings working with Louis, a free-spirited photographer and guitar player.  

At first, the evenings are long and filled with uncomfortable silences but slowly through cups of coffee and conversation, the two of them realize this could be the start of something really special.

@1dfannnnxx wanted me to write a Christmas Special and here it is. Louis started a job as an Elf at a shopping mall in December. He was sad to be away from his family but he really needed the money. He has hoped that he would get to be Santa but some other dude was already dressed up as Santa when he came to work on his first day and introduced himself as Harry. At least he didn't have to be Rudolph's ass like that poor guy Zayn, stuck behind someone named Liam all day. A guy named Niall was also an Elf and then there was Anna, or Mrs. Clause as she often pointed out, especially after Harry removed his fake beard at lunchtime and they could see how good-looking he was. Louis noticed too and all of a sudden his gloomy Christmas became exciting and wonderful and just a magical time to fall in love. Purely fictional!

Harry starts uni studying photography and meets Niall when they become roommates. Harry keeps bumping into the same group of people around campus but doesn't know any of their names. For his first project they have to pick a local sports team or one of their uni's sports teams to photograph and create a portfolio of. Harry decides he's going to pick the uni's soccer team so he can finally find out the name of one of their players and can stop referring to him as 'number 17' who he also finds out is the teams captain or 'the short guy.' What happens when he learns his name and his friends names and they all start becoming friends with each other? Will something bloom between Harry and the soccer teams captain?
