UA was one of the best colleges in japan, you would have to be really smart or rich to get in and if you where a recommendation student then that just means your better then the rest.
Shoto Todoroki is not only a smart and talented student at UA, he was one of the top recommendation students. he was also the one of hottest guys in UA.
Katsuki Bakugo is another smart and talented student at UA, but thanks to his attitude towards people he only has a couple friends. but he's the top of his class.
UA has dorms, two people per room. Katsuki was lucky enough to get to be Todoroki's roommate. not only that but him and Shoto both work at the same café.
