Samantha never had anything easily handed down to her in her life, she has always had to fight for everything, literally. She fought for her parent's love and attention when she was a child, fought to make friends, fought for the grades to make a place in the university of her choice. She is still fighting. However, now it is for the money, money to pay for her tuition and food and the roof above her head. 

Being an underground fighter she was used to the physical pain from the punches and kicks thrown at her, but she quickly learnt the harsh truth that emotional pain was the worst of all. Even after all the physical pain that she endured she can not dull the pain that she felt from the abandonment of her parents, the bullying of her friends and the more recent shattering of her heart in the cruelest of ways. 

She can not help but blame herself for her misfortunes, what could she have done differently to make herself more loved by the people she cared for the most. She felt worthless. Even though she was a fighter she couldn't fight the demons of her past and present eating away at her soul slowly. She was living in her self made hell, a purgatory, punishing herself for her sins. 

When Emir entered her life she had nothing left within her, she was just a shell of her former self. But, piece by piece he heals her shattered heart and fights for her redemption. The journey from hell to paradise is not an easy one. It is bloody, messy, sweaty and teary. 

Even though it is Samantha who fights in the ring, it will be Emir who will have to fight the hardest, for he will be fighting Samantha's demons with her.
