Between the period of 960-1127, Northern Song  Dynasty  is at war with the Liao dynasty. Three sworn brothers;  Xiao Feng, Duan Yu, and Xuzhu join forces to bring what's right and just in the martial world. The three of them each have their own characters, adventures, love stories, and pitiful parental backgrounds which mold them into great martial art heroes.

Cry of the Water Dragon 《水龙吟》:

Xiao Feng returns to the Song Empire later to attend a wulin gathering at Shaolin Monastery, where he combines forces with Duan Yu and Xuzhu to overcome their foes. At Shaolin, the truths behind all the murders are revealed and the guilty parties receive their just deserts; Xiao Feng also successfully proves his innocence and reconciles with the wulin before returning to Liao. 
Too bad, Yelü Hongji plans to invade the Song Empire and wants Xiao Feng to support him, but Xiao refuses and attempts to dissuade him to prevent bloodshed. The Liao emperor imprisons Xiao Feng and decides to proceed with the campaign. In the meantime, Azi escapes from Liao and seeks help from Duan Yu, Xuzhu and their allies. Impressed by Xiao Feng's righteousness, they manage to rally martial artists from throughout the wulin to join them in rescuing Xiao Feng. Even though the mission is successful, they are ultimately outnumbered and trapped by Liao forces at Yanmen Pass. Xiao Feng takes Yelü Hongji hostage and forces him to promise that there will be no war between Song and Liao for as long as he lives. But then... a tragic event happened...

Outraged at her husband's boldness to treat someone else's son better than his own children, within his own home to boot, Yu Ziyuan takes a page from her husband's book, and goes out on her own to bring home the son of someone else. As a result, their already deteriorating marriage becomes even worse. Their anger and hatred towards each other becomes so strong that it begins to affect not only the people within Lotus Pier, but also their relationship with their two biological children. Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli end up being neglected and treated as mere objects for the two adults to project their anger onto. When the adults weren't getting physical with them, they acted as if they had completely forgotten that their son and daughter existed, focusing only on the children they had adopted into their makeshift family. In an attempt to relieve themselves of their abusive parents, the two children decide to run away to Lanling Jin, where Jiang Yanli hoped her fiance's parents would help them. However, neither of the children make it to Koi Tower. What will Yunmeng Jiang and the other great sects do when they discover that the Jiang siblings are missing?
