A short story in the Wolves of the Force timeline during third year of the Clone Wars. Axle Tinguard has recently been selected to be trained as the first Gray Jedi in one hundred years. Because of his success, the Jedi council has granted Axle the rank of Jedi Knight at the young age of 16. He soon realizes that his path as a Gray Jedi lies separate from the Jedi order and temporarily leaves the order to start his training. Axle's new path has opened up new dangers for the young force user as the dark side is a tempting force. An even greater threat arises as the Dark Jedi, Kamara escaped Republic custody and leads what is left of his cult.
