His sister and her friends beat him and tormented him daily, thinking it would 'protect' him. His parents neglected him thinking that he needed to be 'protected', thinking that he needed 'space.'

Years passed by and he finally accepted that he was quirkless and because of that everyone all but increased in the bullying making Izuku even more isolated.
